Overview:
Would you like to design and landscape gardens for pleasure and
profit? With the National Home Study Garden Design and Landscaping Course,
you can develop your skills and talents, learning how to design and create
beautiful gardens and features – either for your own pleasure or as a new
and exciting career in this field.
Assuming no previous knowledge or drawing skill, the course covers all
aspects of garden design and landscaping, from basic design ideas and
concepts, to choosing plants, creating hard landscape and water features.
Support:
As a Direct Home Learning student you will be allocated a personal tutor who will mark and
help you with your work. You will also have access to our tutorial support
service during normal office hours, for all the practical advice you may
need.
Assessment:
This course includes a number of tutor marked assessments that you
complete as part of your coursework and then forward to your tutor. These
include practical design tasks and short questions on specific topics
within the course.
Career prospects:
Whilst many students simply take the course to gain new skills for use in
their own garden, the knowledge and techniques you learn will be of use in
a number of different career paths including horticulture, landscape
gardening, and related professions.
